Bespoke Press video featuring  The Nudl God and Reverse Garbage

Reverse Garbage is Australia’s largest creative reuse centre, committed to diverting resources from landfill – approximately 35,000 cubic metres or 100 football fields worth per year.

Reverse Garbage was established in 1974 by a group of teachers who were determined to help the environment by diverting industrial discards from landfill and by reusing materials in their classrooms.

Almost 40 years later, Reverse Garbage is now an internationally recognised, award-winning environmental co-operative committed to promoting sustainability through the reuse of resources available at its Marrickville warehouse, as well as providing support to other community, creative and educational organisations. This support is often in the form of donated materials, service-in-kind or small financial sponsorships.

Our Reverse Garbage Warehouse is open to the public 7 days a week (click here for our location and operating hours) to purchase a variety of reusable materials and resources at considerably discounted prices. We also offer a range of tours and educational workshops for students tailored to different ages, abilities and needs.

We look forward to welcoming you at our Reverse Garbage Marrickville site! For any enquiries please contact us on 02 9569 3132 or email us at info@reversegarbage.org.au

To keep up-to-date with the latest resources and materials that have arrived at our Marrickville site, please follow us on Facebook. Otherwise you can also become a Friend of Reverse Garbage for access to discounts, special competitions, sales and more!

  2. It is good to hear that waste and landfill problems are being tackled and that garbage issues are not being swept under the carpet. This is a subject which seldom gets an airing in pubilc, so it is good to read this article. Thanks for this.

  3. Hi there!

Just wanting to know if you have any large
Sheets of white cork flute in at the moment?

  4. Hi guys great job & I wish you every success. There is an enormous amount of unnecessary waste these days. By any chance have you come across or have a horse ‘manequin’, ie a large staue horse used in stage sets?

  5. Hi, I was wondering if you have any tree-stump type things that could be used for children’s stepping stones/play/balancing games

    • Hi Julia, no tree stumps at the moment sorry. We do have cardboard and plastic barrels which lots of schools use for a similar purpose in the playground.

  6. Numerous a times when persons a product, it would be an
electronic item, or just a skin care cream, they forget to
calculate the hidden costs.A range of scientific studies have attributed the usefulness of this compound to its inherent potential to encourage the production of
collagen and elastin.According to the organization, the inclusion of only natural elements assists
to prevent users from experiencing unnecessary side effects prevalent to such treatments.
A single jar lasted him about two months ahead of
it ran out, and he had already begun to see final results
soon after the initial month. All in all, mainly because of the price
of the product, so would not suggest this item to
    any individual.

  12. Hi there!
I love coming to Reverse Garbage, but I haven’t made it for ages :(
Do you by any chance have any glass jars at the moment? Say the size of a tall jam or pickle jar? To be used as vases at an engagement party.
    Thanks!
    Ray

    • Hi Ray – we have some glass jars, but not multiples in the same size. The best place to look is in our new Brick-a-Brack room, or alternatively you can enquire with our front counter staff.

  13. Hello Reverse Garbage,
This is an excellent idea … saves a long trip … if you don’t have what we need. And what we need is acrylic (perspex) off-cuts and used sheets. Anything like that with you?

    • Hi Mel – yes we certainly do. We have 1 or 2 sheets at the moment (approx. 2m x 1m) and lots of offcuts of various sizes :)

  14. Hi guys,
    We love your work.
We also work in the local area and are working on a revegetation project near the cooks river currently involving a steep slope that needs some logs to secure the bank.

Logs (optimally 150mm in diameter and 2m long) and optimally decompostable are require to pin horizontially along the slope so we can lay mulch and plant natives.

Just wondering if anything would ring a bell on this.. We need apporximately 80 at 2m long?
    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Max

    • Hi Max – thanks for contacting us. We’d love to help but unfortunately have no logs available sorry. Should anything come in we will certainly be in contact. Keep up the good work rejuvenating our nearby Cooks River! RG
