Mosaic Workshops at Reverse Garbage

IMG_5411[1]

The second stage of the creation of our Indigenous Storytelling Garden, the Yenmala Nura (‘Let’s Walk Through Country’) Garden, is underway!

Thank you to volunteers who have spared their time to contribute to the mosaic pieces. The garden will soon feature a mosaic ‘yarning circle’ made from donated Reverse Garbage tiles and featuring various Aboriginal symbols found in the garden.

We greatly appreciate the help and support of community volunteers to see this project completed. If you’re looking to volunteer your time, contribute to a community art project, learn new creative skills and ‘make your mark’ on a piece of Marrickville history that will last for decades – please come down and get creative!

No previous experience necessary, all materials and equipment will be provided, along with technique and safety advice (gluing and some tile cutting) . Children aged 10+ years up are welcome to assist parents/carers.
