Coming to Reverse Garbage is fun but there’s some things you’ll need to know about visiting us
Reverse Garbage is located on the grounds of the Addison Road Community Centre in Marrickville. The entrance is located at: 142 Addison Rd, Marrickville. (Map)
Getting Here – Public transport
Marrickville is in Sydney’s Inner West, not far from Newtown.
- The 428 bus stops right out the front on Addison Road.
- An easy 6 minute walk from the 423/426 and M30 bus stops at Enmore Park.
Getting here – Private Car or Bus
Buses are not permitted to enter the Addison Road precinct and must drop off and pick up on Addison Rd. There is parking for cars inside the precinct. Buses and coaches should be able to find parking in the nearby streets. England Avenue and Newington Road as likely spots.
Arriving at Reverse Garbage
If coming by bus/coach, public transport or walking: Please wait at the gates to the Addison Rd Centre and call us on 9569 3132 to tell us you have arrived. A staff member will come and collect your group.
If coming by car: Please assemble your group on the timber seating under the trees in front of Reverse Garbage and call us to let us know you have arrived. Ph 9569 3132
There are two blocks of public toilets on the site. We will show you where they are when you arrive. Children must be well supervised as these are public toilets.
Please bring a rubbish free lunch and take any waste home with you. Public rubbish bins are not available.
Behaviour management, supervision and the safety of students and groups remains the responsibility of teachers and supervising adults accompanying the group.
The Addison Road Centre is a historical site on state owned land and is managed by ARRCO. Any signage and regulations must be followed. Paths and surfaces may be uneven and require active supervision by your staff. Toilets are public and should be checked by your staff and well supervised. Crossings must be used at all times.
What to Bring
It is essential that all attendees wear sturdy, fully enclosed, waterproof flat soled shoes.
- a refillable water bottle,
- lunch and snacks,
- a hat,
- rain jacket.
Our workshops won’t normally be affected by the weather. If the forecast looks like there may be rain on the day of your visit, visitors will need to bring appropriate wet weather clothing and umbrellas for moving between the different venues.
