Becoming a member of Reverse Garbage is a simple way of showing your support of what we’ve been doing for over 45 years. Your annual membership helps us make a very big difference in our community and beyond. We thank you.
Our membership year runs from 1 November through to 31 October. Your RG membership will be valid from the date you make payment until the next 31 October rolls around (exception made for new memberships commenced in August, September or October).
Your $15 annual membership fee offers you the following benefits:
Member’s 10% discount
While we find the majority many of our members choose not to use to their discount as an additional way of supporting their favourite charity, it is important to know you will be eligible for a 10% discount on your purchases.
The discount can be used for all of your personal shopping. It can’t be used when purchasing resources for schools, community groups or organisations. Pease note, the discount is not applied to the few items Reverse Garbage purchases as stock such as paint, clay and glue.
No membership card
We don’t think you’ll be surprised by this – we will not be issuing a physical membership card. To claim your 10% membership discount, all you need to do is give our staff your name before you pay for your items. Simple!
All members are welcome to attend our Annual General Meeting in November each year where you can vote and meet the people who make the magic happen – our Board and team members.
You can now proudly say you are a member of Reverse Garbage, helping to save 5 tonnes of waste from landfill each week, and educating the community on the importance of reuse.
Membership is what you make it
We’re very easy going here at RG. We don’t have a hard and fast list of things that are required of our members. Generally, how it works is that we do our best to keep you up to date on what is going on here – and if you see an opportunity where you think you could give us a hand, then put that hand up and let us know.
Maybe you have a few spare hours and would like to help sort through donations or tidy shelves. Maybe you’re handy with tools and could make a few bits and bobs for us like frames for proddy rug courses. Maybe you have a special superpower like photography or writing. Maybe you’d like to volunteer at one of the many festivals we attend throughout the year. Or maybe you just have the gift of the gab and can tell everyone you meet what a wonderful place we have here – and they definitely must visit.
We appreciate your support in whatever form it comes, as long as we are all working towards our vision of inspiring people to make reuse their first choice.
