Addison Road 1990’s

Throughout the 1980’s and 1990’s our warehouse evolved to accommodate the growing demand for rescued materials. The layout changed multiple times to reflect the increasing variety of items available for schools, artists, and businesses.

For 46 years, Reverse Garbage operated from the historic Infantry Drill Hall on Addison Road, Marrickville. Becoming a hub for sustainability, education, and creative reuse.

Over the decades, Reverse Garbage grew from a small teacher-run project into an internationally recognised creative reuse centre. Its impact expanded beyond schools to artists, businesses, and the wider community.
