In the year 2000, Reverse Garbage proudly celebrated 25 years of championing creative reuse at Addison Road, marking a significant milestone in our mission to divert waste from landfill and inspire sustainable innovation. Since its founding in 1975 by a group of passionate educators, Reverse Garbage had grown into a thriving hub for artists, teachers and environmentally conscious makers, transforming industrial and commercial discards into valuable resources for the community. The 25th year celebrations showed the love and support for Reverse Garbage from across the community.

This anniversary was a testament to the power of creativity and collective action in reshaping perceptions of waste, proving that discarded materials could spark new possibilities. The celebration honored the dedication of volunteers, staff, and supporters who had helped build a strong foundation for Reverse Garbage’s impact, paving the way for future generations to embrace sustainability, resourcefulness, and the joy of making.
