Other places to donate

We are part of a very active network of reuse centres and environmental organisations. If we can’t help you or accept your donation, maybe one of these groups can!

Planet Ark

Helping people, governments and businesses reduce their impact on the environment, this not-for-profit organisation runs campaigns that focus on everything from ink cartridges to coffee grounds.

Bower Reuse and Repair Centre

Shopfronts in Marrickville and Parramatta sell second-hand furniture, appliances, household goods, salvaged building materials, bikes, books and more. The regular Repair Cafe sessions provide free assistance with dodgy electrical items, wobbly bikes and rickety timber furniture.

Circle Paints

Circle Paints collect surplus Dulux paint from trade painters and paint and wood care products from Community Recycling Centres that is otherwise destined for landfill or incineration and make it available for purchase.

Clothing Exchange

Members of this organisation can swap clothes online or at professionally hosted events across Australia.

Amoung The Trees

Among the Trees diverts usable timber from landfill, sells reclaimed wood, crafts custom benchtops, and teaches repair and reuse to cut waste, lower carbon, and strengthen the circular economy.

Inner West Reuse and Repair Map

Discover local organisations and businesses in the Inner West helping you to keep items out of landfill in this handy resource made by the IW council.

Reverse eWaste

Working with businesses rather than consumers, this specialist group ensures that the sensitive nature of electronic waste materials is properly dealt with, promising ‘data sanitation’ and a certificate of destruction.

Soft Landing

A social enterprise that diverts waste mattresses from landfill by recovering the recyclable components including steel springs, foam, husks, fabric and timber. The work is done by people who typically experience barriers entering the open labour market.

The Reconnect Project

The Reconnect Project’s mission is to give pre-owned mobile devices a new life by providing them to people in need. Reverse Garbage have partnered with The Reconnect Project so you can drop off your donations here at RG.

Tyrecycle

Operating nationally, this group collects and processes waste tyres in an efficient, environmentally sound and socially responsible manner. The recycled rubber they produce is used in playground surfaces, athletics tracks and more.

UNSW Stationery Reuse Centre

A sustainability initiative by student organisation, Arc – UNSW Student Life, committed to reducing waste by giving stationery a second life.

ReLove
